All the tips you really need!
Plan your first trip to Sweden without stress
Have you planned to go on holiday to Sweden for the first time? In my E-book Sweden for Beginners you will find everything you want to know about your first time to Sweden, written by a local (me!). I was once a beginner myself, in 2015 to be precise.
Since then, I have traveled back every year, in love with the country, until I took the step to live there permanently in 2023. In this e-book I share everything I learned along the way.
- Learn how to start planning your trip.
- Understand how big Sweden really is (and how to plan realistically).
- Tips for staying overnight: camping, cabin, hotel or something else?
- Well prepared for your trip with practical tips about the weather, nature and traffic.
- Lots of information about wild picking, hunting season, Swedish customs, wildlife.
- And much more!

Antonette Spaan
Author of Sweden for Beginners
My name is Antonette Spaan and I live in Swedish Lapland. I have been making several trips to Sweden every year since 2015 and in the summer of 2018 I decided that I wanted to buy a holiday home in Sweden. In the summer of 2023, I bought, on my own, a beautiful house in Dorotea in Västerbottens län, one of the northernmost provinces of Sweden.
I spend my free time in Sweden outside as much as possible. Together with my boyfriend, who lives another four hours’ drive north, I go out for walks, making fires and grilling, fishing or skiing.
In addition, I am the author of the Sweden Travel Guide by Golazo Publishers and the Passepartout Travel Guide to Swedish Lapland by Edicola (published in June 2026).
